Introduction

The Halo: Campaign Evolved campaign spans 13 missions — 10 from the original Halo: Combat Evolved plus 3 brand-new prequel missions in Operation METEORITE set one year before the main story. Each walkthrough covers combat tactics, Skull locations, hidden collectibles, and Legendary-specific tips for the toughest difficulty. From the crash-landing of The Pillar of Autumn through the Silent Cartographer, the Library, and Two Betrayals, every mission has been re-built in Unreal Engine 5 with new enemy placements, expanded scripting, and the full Operation METEORITE prequel featuring Master Chief and Sgt. Johnson aboard a Covenant research ship. This section also covers Skull placement for every level, the order in which to obtain the new weapons, and the best 4-player co-op loadouts for tackling the campaign on Heroic or Legendary difficulty.

Core Mechanics

Each mission follows a linear critical-path with optional side-areas for Skulls and weapon caches. Mission checkpoints are triggered by major objective completion, not by area load. Legendary difficulty ramps enemy health by 2x, Elite accuracy by 1.5x, and removes health-regen between checkpoints.

Advantages

The 13 missions are designed to teach you the full Halo sandbox — The Pillar of Autumn teaches movement, The Silent Cartographer teaches vehicles, The Library teaches Flood combat, and Two Betrayals teaches reverse-map navigation. METEORITE adds Covenant ship combat and Forerunner puzzle mechanics.

Challenges

The Library is widely considered the hardest mission in the original — tight corridors, infinite Flood spawns, and no vehicles. Two Betrayals is a reverse map and trips up first-timers. The Maw's final drive to the Pillar of Autumn takes 8 minutes and punishes any Warthog hijack.
